Break out the wigs and conjure your theme, because the dog partying season is near. Perhaps some (you know who you are little sis) scoff at the idea of dogs in costumes. Okay, I get it, but it’s not so much about the costume itself. These silly fabric, plastic and paper get-ups serve a larger [...] Well here’s Buzz. No, not the buzz, but Buzz, a raucous LSU fan. Okay, so he doesn’t really know what LSU is, but his mom does, and that’s all that matters. He just wants to be close to her regardless of who’s on TV! What, you say? How can that be? Oddly, I say this in the studio a lot. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t bathe and groom your dogs, cats, birds, horses. No. What I am saying is the camera doesn’t see dirt unless it’s large clumps of mud hanging in dreads off your long coated Sheltie. [...] You just have to be patient. And really, in some cases you don’t even have to be too patient. Surprise is a tactic. Meet Dixie and Darlin’. Could they have been any cuter? Again – we just get the cutest folks in our studio…it almost doesn’t seem fair to the rest of you, huh [...] You met Nikki as a good citizen in the Good Citizenship post. She’s a tiny sweet Pomeranian who is kept clipped short most of the year. I’ve mentioned this before, but to me Poms seem to have a built-in halo around their heads. I know Nikki does. Okay, so kill me…I’m a Saints fan. There, I said it. I can’t deny that my TV screen has some smudges on it from the pillows I’ve thrown at it in seasons past; nevertheless, I’m a fan. It’s still pre-season, but maybe this is our year. In any case, this little family is hoping for [...] This is Madison. Some people think Poodles are more like humans than other breeds of dogs. I’ve never lived with one…I couldn’t say. But they do look at you like they know what you’re saying. The control group at my house look at me like they don’t care what I’m saying. Got some petting, tickling, [...] Posing your pet in the studio can create challenges that shooting in the field doesn’t. It may be a lot easier to have your assistant either throw a ball or toy out and have your dog run after it or have your assistant walk your dog out and call your dog back.
