The shots of the Golden (at the end of last collection of the Lure Coursing proofs) were requested by the woman who lives with and loves this dog. Two years ago I photographed Dixie when she was about 20 pounds heavier. She has been on a strict diet and has been undergoing walking and swimming therapy to get the weight off. They attended the event as spectators and did not run.

Dixie is looking great and she's added years to her life by taking off the weight.

I love all these photos, especially the ones where you caught the dog mid-air so it looks like they're flying. And I liked the poodle shots-I would have never thought a poodle could run like that. But I was disappointed that there weren't any shots of the Golden running but I'm glad you included those photos anyway. Truly stunning photography!

I love it! I am Dax's mom (the blue greyhound). The hounds are, from left to right, Lago Bud (Bud), Lago Dave (Dax), Lago Fox (Fox) and Lago Andrew (Andrew). These 4 boys were placed by GPA-LA/MS at different times during a year and a half period. They may not all look alike, but their personalities are, for the most part, very similar. We all wanted to get a photo taken of the boys together. We had fostered Andrew not long before this. It was tough to get the four boys to come together, but it worked out in the end. Since this time, Fox's mom had to return him to our group due to a change in her life, and we are currently fostering him. He is up for adoption now and I hope he will get a wonderful home, as he had before. Hopefully it will be forever this time. Also, right before this shoot, Fox was diagnosed with SLO. It is under control and he is doing well. Hugs to all the "Lago" boys! We love them all!!!!

I had never been around Greyhounds in person until the Grand Opening party at your new studio last Sunday and I was moved to tears hearing how they live the first year and a half of their lives in cages except when they're taken out to race. And how they are then given 8 races to prove that they have the speed necessary to make them a "contender." And how if they don't make the cut, instead of killing them like they used to do, now almost 80% of Greyhounds get rescued by groups like the GPA. I always knew that racing horses and Greyhounds was wrong and hearing more of the details on how wrong it is was really life-changing.

I am so grateful for the work you do each year on this calendar to raise money for the GPA. My only knowledge of the physical presence of Greyhounds was through your photos and now that I've met several in person, I appreciate even more how your shots reflect their grandness, gentleness and "dogness."

Thank you for the wonderful Grand Opening party. Your studio is beautiful and I know that many great photos will come from there.

Made my day when I saw Annie Bell on the blog! Thanks so much, Paula. Just the lift I needed. Y'all did a fabulous job on the Girls' pics. We'll treasure forever. Took a real pro to catch Annie's expression before she was back in Mama's arms. May y'all have much success & fun in your very own habitat. dtg
