Sport The (Part) Tennessee Walking Horse (Click to enlarge)

Does he look like your new best friend?  He makes a case for that role.  Alas, he already has a new best friend.  Sisters Pet Pics has been busy this summer with location shoots; last weekend we went out to Folsom to photograph horses in the morning and hobby farm animals in the afternoon.  I’ll be posting images of the second shoot in days to come.

Of course all animals are special, but doesn’t it seem as if horses have some specialness that other animals don’t?  What is it with little girls and horses?  This love I have for horses was born when I was a toddler – before I even met one.  I speak to others who share that experience and I wonder why.

Sport is owned by a woman who always had a love for horses.  Now in her middle age, she has decided it was about time to act on her dream.  She found this small, two year old, gentle gelding.  She works with him every day.  She’s had a saddle on him already, and next year she’ll get on him.  What an adventure.

The point for today’s discussion will be about our dreams.  Tomorrow will not be too late, but it is later than it is today.  It’s never too late to reinvent yourself…as a horse owner/rider, as a scuba diver, or as a photographer.  But the longer you wait, the less time you’ll have to enjoy the fruits of your choices.  So decide what you are capable of doing.  Not what you know how to do today, but what you are capable of doing after you learn.  Want to learn to sail?  Do the research.  Commit to the dream.  Want to ride horses?  Act.  Want to take better photographs?  You can do it.  Need a better camera first?  Begin the research and set your sights on it.  Don’t be afraid.  Take a step forward…toward your better, learned and happier self.  And of course, share your journey.
