These two beauties, Gracie and Cane, visit our studio with their mom and dad at the end of each year for their holiday portraits. We always love to see them as these gorgeous Boxers bring joy and energy wherever they go. This active pair are like birds…they light for a moment before flying off again. [...]
Though Fred enjoys a little time in the sun, he reminds us of some potential dangers that the summer season may expose us to. You may think I’m going to remind you NEVER to leave your dog in a car when you just need to hop out to run a quick errand, with or without [...]
Could Tsunami be any more beautiful? No. All 15 years of her! You heard me; 15 years old. Now that’s longevity. She lives with an artist and many Greyhounds, but she’s a mama’s girl. Perhaps the the closeness to her mom is directly attributable to her advanced years. She wasn’t really nervous in the studio [...]
Meet Libby. I can’t say enough about the disposition of these dogs. We get many breeds and breed mixes in our studio throughout the year, but for the last two years we have donated our services to the Greyhound Pets of America – Louisiana Chapter (GPA/LA) for their calendar. During May and June we shoot [...]
I hope you’re enjoying your spring. We are. We’re in the midst of what we like to call our “Greyhound Season”. We’re donating our services to the Greyhound Pets of America – Louisiana Chapter for their calendar event. If you’re a member, it’s free. Just make an appointment to be eligible to be considered for [...]
If the roles were reversed and our domestic animals were higher on the food chain and kept us as pets, the internal bickering would be relentless.. Hair would fly and blood would flow. Once we get past the obvious hilarity of the premise, “No, Paula, you chase the ball first, then put it in your [...]
Tonight I attended an outdoor concert. A friend is the organizer and she asked me to photograph the event. Not my usual venue, for sure, especially since the oldest listener in the crowd seemed to be 18, but I was pleasantly surprised by the large audience. I was not taken aback by the size of [...]
Here’s the deal. If you peruse the internet looking for pet photographer galleries you will find many. I do this occasionally. Others inspire me. You should too; it will inspire you as well. Until recently, however, I often wondered how most of them are making a living. Surely, I say, my customers wouldn’t pay for [...]
This is Christian the cat. I’m going to call him a brown tabby, as the light coloring hints at a gold or brown. According to Is Color Linked To Temperament?, Christian’s personality is “quiet, courteous, docile and faithful, but at the same time hardy and courageous”. His human parents think he is very special, as he found them at a very fortuitous time when they were missing another cat. The way he looked at the camera in this sweet way just made me want to go over and pet his extra soft coat…and he loved it.
I decided to begin this blog because, although there is a wealth of pet pictures all over the web and in homes all over the world, there seems to be a dearth of good photographs of these cherished animals. There is a cottage industry dedicated to re-working out of focus, poorly composed snap shots of [...]
